I can give advice to anyone that wants their tubes tied and I will also give out the name of my doctor that is willing to tie my tubes AFTER I have my surgery(August 15th, 2013). Stay encouraged!! I’m very excited for this blog! I’m 22 years old and I’m childfree. I have the desire to get the Essure procedure.

I know you’re going for the tubal ligation, but can you please let us know if that doctor of yours does Essure as well?

Furthermore, would you recommend traveling to Connecticut to have the procedure done? I’m in California and as liberal as this state is, I haven’t had any luck.

    • Hello AquaSeashells91!

No, you most certainly do NOT have to travel all the way across the USA to get your tubes tied. I am sure someone on the west coast will be able to tie them for you. There is a long list of CF doctors on this website http://www.thechildfreelife.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=16923 . What happened when you went to your appointment? How many doctors did you see? You know, I wrote a guide to help you called How To Go About Getting Your Tubes Tied parts 1 and 2. I hope they help! They certainly helped me!

That’s a relief!! I’m so glad I won’t have to travel for it. I love traveling, but that would be a huge pain in the neck to deal with.

When I went, I asked them if I could have it in a couple years. They said “I respect wanting you to take control over your fertility, you could change your mind.” Typical bingo! -.- So what I plan on doing next is using the directory from Planned Parenthood to find a doctor to do it down here. I only saw one doctor and she offered me paragard as an alternative. I want Essure though.

Thanks do much for posting it!! I’ll definitely have a look!

Hi, I saw your post on Bratfree and and decided to read your blog. I had my tubes tied two weeks ago and I had to travel to the UK to get it done. Will soon write about my experience. Very happy to follow any blog by fellow Bratfree members.

Congrats on your procedure! I hate hearing about women being given grief from the doctors over their choice. I hope your life is very fruitful without you multiplying 😉 best wishes!!

  4. Please email me some doctors to contact. I have been trying for years- all, “you’ll change your mind”. My abortion was the best choice I’ve made in my life. Though I would rather just get a procedure my insurance covers then shell out hundreds for more abortions -.-

  5. Do you know anyone in ms? Am 21 getting married in august 30 2014 and we mutually don’t want any kids this world is so bad I would hate for my kids to live in these conditions and I don’t and will never have enough money to home school my kids so they won’t be subject to violence even daycare aged children are bullying each other and trying sexual things on each other because they are watching porn with there parents or family members I just wouldn’t want my kids to go through that

  6. Hi ladies
I’m so happy to find this side.. I’m 38 years old and I’m completely childfree. I’ve been taking birth control all my life, and i’m getting tired of that.. I’m really considering the idea to get my tubes tied.. I’m a little scared about the consequences.. Does anybody knows if it’s different for us since we don’t have kids ??? There’s any health consequence making this decision without having any child??

    Thank you 🙂

I got my REMOVED 👍🏻😊 at 24 in New Jersey. I went to a guy gynecologist explained my reasons and showed him my child free books . He lectured me s bit but he said ok lets schedule the appointment and 3 months later I had both my tubes removed (bilateral Saplingectomy) to be sure that there is no chance of pregnancy !

Hi! I’m 19 and want to get my tubes tied. I’m from Ireland and legally we can’t get our tubes tied without having first had at least two children. Most doctors wouldn’t even consider it if you were unmarried either. Lot of church influence I think. I have family in Florida and am considering travelling over in a year or two to have the procedure done. Would anybody be able to tell me if it’s legal for me to get my tubes tied in America if I’m not American? I come from a large family and have known since I was maybe 9 that it’s something I’d never want myself. I love being child free and the idea of having kids has never once appealed to me

I live in Nevada and want to get my tubes tied. I am 25 years old and know I don’t want kids. What did you do? How did you approach a doctor? Any info would be great!

  14. I’m 21 and ever since I was little knew I didn’t want kids. I’ve never had that maternal instinct in me like my friends. I live in Washington and I’ve done a lot of researching and found how hard it is for someone in their 20s to get their tubes tied. If anyone knows of a doctor who doesn’t shame women for wanting their tubes tied at a young age and actually know for sure that they don’t want kids, please let me know!
